Kathleen F. (McGough) Vipond

GARDNER - Kathleen F. (McGough) Vipond, 61, of 165 Sand Street, Gardner, died peacefully at her residence Tuesday, November 24th. She was born in Altoona, PA on October 14,1948, the daughter of the late Robert Leo and Mary Jane (Yorgy) McGough and had lived in Gardner since 1984, when she moved from upstate New York. Kathy was a paralegal in the Office of Jodie Yoffie in Worcester for 17 years. She previously had worked in other law offices. She was a1966 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School, a graduate of Computer System Institute of Pittsburg and Mt. Wachusett Community College in Gardner, where she was a member of Alpha Beta Gamma and Phi Beta Kapa. In 2000, she graduated from Clark University. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed writing and reading. Kathy also used to breed Seal Point Siamese cats. She leaves two children, Scott Christopher Vipond, USAF Retired, and his wife Donna of Las Vegas, NV and Nicole C. Charette and her husband Jeremiah of Winchendon; six brothers and sisters, Janet M. Csarny and her husband Richard of Durham, NC, Michael McGough of Altoona, PA, Marianne King and her husband Gordon of Hamilton, OH, Lawrence McGough and his wife Maureen of Maple Grove, MN, Margaret Marasco and Dr. Ralph Marasco of Altoona, PA and Maureen McGough of Altoona, PA; five grandchildren, Aaron Barding, Joshua Barding, Ariel Vipond, Tristan Charette and Morgan Charette; her life partner, John "Jack" O'Brien of No. Attleboro, MA., as well as many nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28th at 4 P.M. in Faith Lutheran Church, 627 Green Street, Gardner. Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 28th from 2 to 4 P.M. in the church, preceding the funeral. Interment will be held at a later date in Cathedral of the Pines, Jaffrey, NH.
