Kathleen J. LeClair

GARDNER - Kathleen Julia (Donahue) LeClair, age 85, of 9 Willis Road, died Thursday evening, August 18th in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, surrounded by her family. She was born in North Devon, New Brunswick, Canada on October 9,1919, the daughter of George and Emily (Gill) Donahue and came to Gardner in 1921. She later graduated from Sacred Heart School in 1933 and Gardner High School in 1937. Mrs. LeClair worked as a nurses aide at Heywood Hospital for 16 years until her retirement in 1982. She was a Gold Star Mother, having lost a son, Army Private First Class, William G. LeClair, in the Vietnam War in 1969. Kathleen was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Gardner Chapter AARP and the Gardner Golden Agers. She enjoyed family, friends, traveling and reading. Her husband of 60 years, Norman E. LeClair, died in 2002. She leaves two sons, Gerald L. LeClair and his wife, Patricia LeClair, of Fitchburg; Daniel P. LeClair and his wife, Elaine LeClair, of Wayland; three daughters, Nancy R. Iacono and her husband, Carmine Iacono, of League City, TX; Jean E. DeMeo and her husband, Paul N. DeMeo of Gardner, and Susan P. Rousseau and her husband, Alan Rousseau of Gardner; a sister, Mary Demers of Enfield, CT, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Three brothers, George Donahue, Paul Donahue and James (Denis) Donahue, as well as two sisters, Ruth Donahue and Margaret Balduff, predeceased her. A memorial mass will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, September 10th in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross Street, Gardner. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private in St. John's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross Street, Gardner, MA. 01440 or to Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center, 268 Central Street, Gardner, MA. 01440.
