ASHBURNHAM – Keith P. Swenson Sr., 69, of 18 Christmas Tree Drive, died peacefully of renal failure Monday afternoon, May 11, 2020 at his home, with his family at his side.
He was born in Worcester on December 4, 1950, son of the late Donald and Muriel (Harvey) Swenson and grew up in Worcester. He had lived in Ashburnham for several years.
Keith worked in maintenance at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School for almost 30 years until his retirement in 2002. At that time, he opened Swenson Small Engine Repair, which he operated for many years until his full retirement in 2015. He enjoyed radio control plane and helicopter flying, fishing and hunting. He was a member of Academy of Aeronautical Modelers and Wachusett Barnstormer RC Club and greatly enjoyed the company of his shelties, Princess and Patches and his yorkie, Snickers.
He leaves his wife of 31 years, Diane (Berglund) Farmer Swenson; his children, Keith Swenson Jr. and his wife Marloe of Gardner, Althea Sedgwick and her husband Russ of Athol, Dustin Swenson and his wife Valerie of Athol and Gardner Swenson of Rindge, NH; a stepson Jay Farmer and his wife Anne of Worcester; his brothers and sisters, Donald Swenson and his wife Louise of Rindge, Kenneth Swenson and his wife Donna of Auburn, Karen Marrota of Brookfield and Glen Swenson and his wife Robin of Templeton; 11 grandchildren, one great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Gail Swenson and a grandson, Casey Sedgwick.
Private funeral services will be held in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Services held for Keith may be viewed at https://webcasts.lifetributes.com/1067643 .
Burial will be in New Cemetery, Ashburnham.
