Kenneth James Sawyer

March 23, 1970 — October 24, 2024

Winchendon

Kenneth James Sawyer, also known as Ken, was a creative soul with a mind that was always thinking. Born on March 23, 1970, in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Kenneth passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024. He was a reliable and generous man, always ready to lend a hand and offer his expertise, especially within his beloved community of family and friends.

Ken was a machinist by trade, working diligently in the paper mill industry and most recently and Grief in Fitchburg. Despite his commitment to his work, he was also deeply passionate about independent film-making, a hobby he pursued alongside his brother Andy. Their shared love for horror and science fiction movies led them to create props, puppetry, and digital film scenery, earning them recognition and awards at film festivals. Ken was also a gifted 3D printer and digital artist, his creativity being the backbone of their projects. He was most alive during Halloween, when he could transform his home into a haven of joy for everyone who visited. As Albert Einstein once said, "Creativity is intelligence having fun," and Ken truly embodied this.

Family was a cornerstone of Ken's life. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle, always willing to help and take action when needed. Often seen in the background, carefully listening and observing, he had an uncanny ability to remember the smallest details and surprise his loved ones with significant and thoughtful gifts. This loving nature not only made him a reliable presence in their lives, but also a cherished memory in their hearts.

Kenneth is survived by his mother, Janet Sawyer; brothers Andy (Lisa Robichaud) Sawyer, Nathan (Susan) Sawyer, and Matthew Sawyer; nieces Elizabeth Sawyer, Ellen Allen, and Evie Brogan; nephew Mark Sawyer; and great-niece Harlyn Sawyer. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Sawyer.

The funeral service will be on Monday November 4, 2024 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with calling hours from 10:00 - 11:00am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Winchendon.
