WINCHENDON – Kenneth R. Divoll, 84, of 121 Alger Street, died peacefully Thursday morning, July 10th at Heywood Hospital, Gardner with his family at his side.
He was born in Worcester on July 10, 1930. His mother was Louise Divoll Smith, who was married to his stepfather, Ernest Smith. Ken proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War from 1948 to 1951. He was awarded the Army Occupation Medal and Korean Service Medal. Following his time in the service, he moved to Winchendon.
Ken had worked as a sprayer for Temple Stuart Furniture Company and then worked as a mason for the late Marshall Martin. He later worked as a maintenance man at Narragansett Regional High School until his retirement. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also found enjoyment doing crossword puzzles and zigsaw puzzles.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Patricia M. (Desmond) Divoll; six children, Susan Woodard and her husband Mark of Winchendon, Kenneth Divoll 2nd of Winchendon, the late Richard Divoll, who died in 1988, Pamela Boudreau and her husband Alan of Winchendon, Debra Tourigny and her husband Phillip of Templeton and Kevin Divoll and his wife Lisa of Orange, many grandchildren, many great grandchildren as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 15th at 10 A.M. in Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Thomas Clinkscale will officiate. There are no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
