TEMPLETON – Kenneth R. Morlock, 90, of 79 Bridge Street, Baldwinville, died peacefully Friday afternoon, February 27th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester.
He was born in Winchendon on August 30, 1924, son of the late Joseph F. and Marion E. (Raymond) Morlock and had resided in Baldwinville since 1956. Ken was a 1942 graduate of Murdock High School.
Following his high school graduation, Ken proudly served in the United States Army in Central Europe during World War Two. He was a tank destroyer driver and mechanic and was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon and American Theatre Campaign Ribbon. He was a member of Lt Roger P. Warfield Post American Legion, Baldwinville and Ovila Case Post 905 VFW in Gardner, a life member of Otter River Sportsmans Club and a member of the Deep Sea Club. An avid golfer, Ken had shot a hole-in-one at the Gardner Golf Course.
Ken had worked as a mechanic and owned and operated the former Ken’s Auto Repair in Baldwinville for 25 years until his retirement in 1981. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife of 67 years, Evelyn L. (Coderre) Morlock; a son, Raymond K. Morlock and his wife Karen of Somerville, NJ and a daughter, Joyce A. Robertson and her husband Chuck of Baldwinville; four grandchildren, Christopher Morlock, Troy Morlock, Jennifer Coe and Kandis Whitlock; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Military funeral services will be held in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
