RINDGE, NH - Kenneth W. Pelto, 66, of 638 Main Street, Rindge, NH, died Thursday evening, October 7th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
He was born in Winchendon on July 22, 1944, the son of the late Arvo and Rita (Gauthier) Pelto and had lived in Rindge for many years. Ken was a self-employed builder. He was a volunteer fire fighter in Rindge for ten years and was a former Cub Scout leader. He was a member of Local 107 Carpenters Union of Worcester for 42 years. Ken helped to establish AGP Chiropractors, formerly of Winchendon. His family called him "Hug A Bug" for his affectionate hugs. Ken loved the challenge of restoring and fixing homes and machinery. His hobby was putting on Saturday yard sales.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, Eileen A. (Luopa) Pelto; four children, Armas K. Pelto of Winchendon; Arne G. Pelto and his wife Courtney of Rutland, Tammie E. Hackett and her husband Ivan of Winchendon and Bernard Taylor and his wife Becky of Gardner; a sister, Shirley Pelto Patch of Winchendon; four grandchildren, Troy Hackett, Brandi Hackett, Jovanha Pelto and Brittany Taylor and several nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Richard Pelto and David Pelto predeceased him.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
