Leo A. Legault, Jr.

GARDNER - Leo A. Legault, Jr., 75, of 116 Church Street, Gardner died Sunday, July 1st, in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner after an illness, surrounded by his family. He was born in New Bedford, MA. on June 27,1932, the son of the late Leo A. and Alma (Boucher) Legault. Leo graduated from Bristol Agricultural High School. Since 1988, Leo had resided in Gardner. Leo worked as a furniture repairman for several years at Scratch and Dent Furniture Co. He later worked as a driver for GAAMHA until his retirement. He was a member of Hillcrest Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles and H & R's Hopeful Rebels Cancer Relay Team, both of Gardner. During the Korean War, Leo served in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at McDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida and did a tour of duty in Okinawa, Japan. His hobbies included fishing and building model ships. In earlier years, Leo was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast. He leaves a daughter, Gina-Marie Culver and her husband John of Gardner; a brother, F. Donald Legault, Sr. and his wife Catherine of Gardner; three sisters, Leona M. Edwards and Evette Mullen, both of Montana and Anita L. Legault of Madison, VA; four grandchildren, Brandan Oinonen, Mariah Oinonen, Johnathan Culver and Kristopher Culver and several nieces and nephews, and F. Donald Legault Jr. of Gardner, his caretaker for several years. A daughter, Tina-Marie Legault, a brother, Richard F. Legault and a sister, Jean Legault, predeceased him. A memorial mass will be held Monday, July 9th at 10 A.M. in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA. 01701.
