FITCHBURG – Leo H. Veilleux, 76, of 54 Wallace Avenue, died peacefully Wednesday morning, October 28th at his residence.
He was born in Woodsville, NH on October 30, 1938, son of the late Leon H. and Doris A. (Baker) Veilleux. Leo grew up in Winchendon and had lived in Fitchburg for the last 15 years.
Leo had worked as a drywaller in the construction trade in the New England area. He was a graduate of Mt. Wachusett Community College and Fitchburg State University with a degree in Psychology. During the Vietnam War, he proudly served in the United States Navy. A lover of the outdoors, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He leaves a son, Leo C. Veilleux and his wife Cheryl of No. Grosvenordale, CT; a granddaughter, Paige Veilleux; his brothers, Bill Veilleux of Myrtle Beach, SC, Pierre Veilleux of Winchendon, Michael Veilleux of Royalston and Noel Veilleux of Winchendon, as well as several nieces and nephews. A brother, Thomas Veilleux, predeceased him.
Private military funeral services will be held in Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
