WINCHENDON - Leona L. (Daniels) Comer, 82, of 273 West Street, Winchendon, died peacefully Tuesday, November 18th, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner. She was born in Hampton, New York on March 17,1926, the daughter of Leon B. and Blanche O. (LaClair) Daniels, and had lived in Winchendon for many years. Leona worked as a bore grinder at New Hampshire Ball Bearing Co. in Peterborough for 32 years until her retirement at the age of 62. Previously, she worked at New England Wooden Ware and M.H. Parks Co. She was a member of the Winchendon Golden Agers. Leona enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, cooking and traveling but especially enjoyed time with her family and friends. She leaves her husband of 63 years, Joseph W. Comer; two daughters, Stacia M. Tatro and her husband Joseph of Jaffrey, N.H. and Hope C. Strait of Winchendon; a brother, John Daniels of Webster; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sons, Wayne B. Comer and Craig A. Comer; one brother, Leon Daniels; one sister, Virginia Dunham and two grandchildren, Angel G. Lawrence and Lowell Jason Strait. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 22nd at 10 A.M. in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Jackson L. Williams will officiate.
