GARDNER – Leonard R. Sundblom, 62, of 342 West Street, Gardner died peacefully Saturday, March 15th at his residence.
He was born in Gardner on September 12, 1951, son of Shirley (Carpenter) Sundblom Teir of Gardner and the late Leonard A. Sundblom. Len grew up in Templeton and graduated in 1969 from Narragansett Regional High School, Baldwinville.
Len worked at Digital for many years in quality control, working up the ranks to a supervisor. Previously, he worked at Simplex and Temple Stuart Furniture Co. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and was a former member of its choir. Len loved the ocean and enjoyed riding his Harley Sportster. Musically inclined, Len enjoyed playing the organ, composing music and was a fan of the Beach Boys and Reo Speedwagon. Len also enjoyed writing poetry and spending precious time with his daughter and grandsons and gardening along with cooking.
In addition to his mother, he leaves his wife, Barbara J. (Gabis) Sundblom; a daughter, Christine Ware, her husband Benjamin and their two children Shane and Shawn of Lunenburg; a brother, Ernest Sundblom of Winchendon; a sister, Anne Marie Frawley of Gardner and several nephews and nieces.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 22nd at 1 P.M. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton. There are no calling hours.
