TEMPLETON - Lillian T. (Duvarney) Rekas, 65, of 23 Pine Drive, Otter River, died peacefully Monday morning, May 24th at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Winchendon on November 26, 1944, the daughter of the late Richard P. and Mildred I. (Blondin) Duvarney and had lived in Otter River for 35 years. Lillian worked several jobs in various capacities in the Gardner area. She worked for the longest period as a store clerk at the former Almy's Department Store in Gardner. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a 1964 graduate of Murdock High School, Winchendon. She leaves her husband of 43 years, Stephen S. Rekas; four children, Stephen M. Rekas and Scott D. Rekas, both of Templeton, and Kimberly M. Rekas and Kristen A. Rekas, both of Gardner; three sisters, Elaine Wilson of Surry, NH, Jacqueline M. Lefebre of Winchendon and Collette A. Racine of Troy, NH; five grandchildren, Ashley M. Rekas, Terrence J. Rekas, Jason J. Guy, Zachary A. Duval, and Kayla M. Guy, and several nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Gerald P. Duvarney Sr and David J. Duvarney, predeceased her. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 27th at 10 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Jay Lillie will officiate. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Thursday, May 27th from 9 to 10 A.M. preceding the funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. www.stone-ladeau.com
