WINCHENDON – Lillian Y. L’Etoile, 88, formerly of 51 Winter Street, Winchendon died peacefully Monday evening, May 20th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner.
She was born in Medford on July 5, 1924, daughter of the late Joseph O. and Jean Buchanon (Taylor) L’Etoile and lived in Winchendon for her entire life.
Lillian worked for many years as a secretary and bookkeeper at General Box Co. until her retirement. She was a 1942 graduate of Murdock High School and attended Bryant and Stratton College. An excellent bowler, Lillian bowled in several bowling leagues in the area. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and participated in many church functions.
She leaves a brother, Joseph A. L’Etoile and his wife Mary of Winchendon; a niece, Jane Pineo of Gardner; two nephews, Michael L’Etoile of Winchendon and Joseph L’Etoile of Gardner as well as several great nephews and great nieces. A sister, Marjorie C. L’Etoile, died in 2009.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, May 25th at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
