Linda Ots

WINCHENDON - Linda (Volens) Ots, 90, of 135 Ipswich Drive, Winchendon, died Sunday evening, February 18th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, following an illness. She was born in Hiiumaa Island, Estonia on July 9,1916, the daughter of Matis and Julie (Juhe) Volens and had lived in Winchendon for 56 years. Linda graduated from a high school in Estonia, and was a sander at Seth Thomas in Fitchburg before her retirement in 1978. She was formerly employed at Independent Lock Company in Fitchburg for 23 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening. Linda leaves a son, Vello Ots of Winchendon; three daughters, Silvi Marinelli, Evi Fitzmaurice and her husband Edward, and Eha Karvonen and her husband, Richard, all of Winchendon; 7 grandchildren, Viki Mosher, Susan LaFortune, David Ots, Jeff Marinelli, Amy Bennett, Ryan Fitzmaurice, and Jill Field; two step grandchildren, Bruce and Richard Marinelli; 12 great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery in the spring. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wendell P. Clark Community Center, 155 Central Street, Winchendon, MA. 01475.
