WINCHENDON – Linda L. (Soucier) Strausser, 69, of 464 Glenallen Street, Winchendon died peacefully Friday morning, September 21st at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Presque Isle, Maine on June 7, 1943, the daughter of Charlene (Turner) Soucier of Skowhegan, Maine and the late Kenneth Soucier and graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1961. She lived for many years in Westminster and had lived in Winchendon for 13 years.
Linda worked for the Social Security Administration as an administrative assistant for 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Gardner and the Clark Memorial YMCA in Winchendon. Since her retirement, she enjoyed camping and friends at Loon Lake Campground. Her greatest joy was spending time and playing games with family, whether at Oak Pond with her mother, sister and nieces, or with her six grandchildren, whom she adored.
In addition to her mother, she leaves her husband, Richard M. Strausser; three children, Dawna Bailey and her husband Mark of Milford, NH, Diane Leger and her husband Rick of Phillipston and Duane Wilson and his wife Donna of Gardner; six grandchildren, Adam Bailey, Lauren Bailey, Luke Bailey, Tori Leger, Casey Leger and Dylan Wilson; a great grandson, Jackson Bailey; a sister, Carolann Corson of Skowhegan ME; two brothers, Kenneth Soucier of Concord Township, ME and Bruce Soucier of Skowhegan, ME and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 24th at 12:30 P.M. in Bethany Baptist Church, 72 Ryan Street, Gardner. The Rev. Dan Meiners will officiate. Burial will follow in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Sunday, September 23rd from 6 to 8 P.M.
