Linda Marie Basso-Braun

April 18, 1943 — September 10, 2015

ROYALSTON – Linda Marie (Girard) Basso-Braun, 72, of South Royalston, died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, early Thursday morning, September 10th.

Linda was born on April 18, 1943 in Winchendon to Gertrude (Akin) and George Girard.  She attended Winchendon public schools and later received her Certificate as a Nursing Assistant.

In her spare time, Linda could be found designing and planting her beautiful gardens, or out on a pond casting a line.  She enjoyed being with her family and was host to many barbeques and holiday parties.  Linda worked for many years in health care facilities and as a foster parent for children and disabled adults.

Linda was predeceased by her parents, Gertrude and George Girard; a sister, Barbara Girard and three brothers James Girard, Richard Girard and Dennis Girard.

She will forever remain in the hearts of her children; Anthony Basso and his wife Kim of Royalston, Todd Basso and his wife Karla of Baldwinville, Terry Basso of Gardner, John Basso and his wife Susan of Winchendon, Debora Basso of Baldwinville and Jessica Basso of Templeton, as well as 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her four brothers; George Girard and his wife Pauline of Winchendon, Larry Girard and his wife Joyce of Baldwinville, Gordon Girard and his wife Carol of Oak Island, NC and David Girard and his wife Sandy of Winchendon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 16th at 11 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 A.M. preceding the mass.
