Lois H. Cross

July 25, 1928 — February 28, 2016

WINCHENDON – Lois H. (Needham) Cross, 87, of Winchendon, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, February 28th in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner, with her children at her side.

She was born in Gardner on July 25, 1928, daughter of the late Sewell and Alice (Crosby) Phelps Needham.  Lois grew up in Ashburnham and was a resident of Winchendon since 1960.

Lois worked at M. Kamenstein Inc for seven years until her retirement.  She had previously worked at Ray Plastics and Phoenix Co.  A true believer and follower of God, she was a former member of Bethany Bible Chapel.  Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and hosting family and holiday events.

Her husband of 60 years, Edward L. “Bub” Cross, died in 2007.  She leaves two sons, Edward L. “Eagle” Cross Jr of Winchendon and Larry J. Cross of Winchendon; a daughter, Darlene R. Rocheleau of Winchendon; a sister, Phyllis Hodgkins of Palm Coast, FL; two brothers David Needham of TN and Robert Needham of NH; 4 grandchildren, Cherie Hart, Shawn Cross and his wife Holly, Garrett Cross and Cory Rocheleau; 1 great granddaughter, Caitlin Hart and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Erdman “Bud” Needham and Leslie Needham, and a sister, Ruth Carrabba.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 14th at 1 P.M. in Riverside Cemetery, Glenallen Street, Winchendon.  Her nephew, Richard Needham, will officiate.

There are no calling hours.
