Loretta A. Vitali

WINCHENDON – Loretta A. (Ashmore) Vitali, 92, of 56 Ash Street, died peacefully Wednesday morning, January 20th in Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville.

She was born in Winchendon on May 21, 1923, the daughter of the late Earl Ashmore and Ida (Rouleau) Ashmore Thayer and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon.  Loretta was a 1942 graduate of Murdock High School.

Loretta worked for many years at the former Winchendon Dress Shop, where she was the manager, and later worked at C.R. Bards in Fitzwilliam, NH, until her retirement.  She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.  She greatly enjoyed playing bingo and taking bus trips to the casino.  Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

Her husband of 58 years, Peter C. Vitali, died in 2008.  She leaves a daughter, Karen M. Young and her husband Michael E. of Winchendon; a grandson, Brent M. Young and his wife Susan of Winchendon; a great granddaughter, Katie and a great great grandson Ayden.  She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael S. Young, who died in 1988 and her sister, Rita Smith.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 23rd at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.  The Rev. Michael J. Clements will officiate.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in the spring.

Calling hours in the funeral home are Saturday, January 23rd from 10 to 11 A.M. preceding the funeral.
