Louanne Ruth Glidden

November 13, 1946 — February 18, 2016

GARDNER – Louanne Ruth (Guffey) Glidden, 69, of 110 Leamy Street, died peacefully at her residence, Thursday afternoon, February 18th, with her family at her side.

She was born in Leominster on November 13, 1946, daughter of Douglas and Mary (Magnon) Guffey and grew up in Royalston.  For the last ten years, she lived in Gardner after living in Baldwinville for over 20 years.

Louanne worked as a certified nursing assistant at Baldwinville Nursing Home and other area nursing homes.  She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cross stitching and cooking.  Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

The wife of the late Milton Glidden, she leaves eight children, Lisa Johnson and her husband Dave of Gardner, Lillian Thompson of Hebron, KY, Eva Thompson and her husband Garry of Gardner, Lucille Lapoint and her husband Russell of Templeton, Leslie Thompson and his wife Lisa of Athol, Douglas Thompson of West Warren, MA, John Thompson and his wife Angelina of Winchendon and Sara Glidden of Hubbardston; her fiancé Ricky LaChance, many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by four children, Albert Herman, Christopher Herman, Joseph Thompson and Gordon Glidden and a brother, David Guffey.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 27th at 3 P.M. in Cornerstone Church of the Assemblies of God, 122 Gardner Road, Winchendon.  There are no calling hours.

Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
