WINCHENDON - Lucy A. (Plante) Leclair, 91, of 547 Central Street, Winchendon, died Wednesday morning, October 15th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home. She was born in Baltic, CT. on August 11,1917, the daughter of Joseph A. and Mary Rose (Dumais) Plante, and had lived in Winchendon for most of her life. Lucy worked as a secretary for the Town of Winchendon Welfare Department and then for the State of Massachusetts Welfare Department until her retirement in 1982 at the age of 65. Many years ago, she worked as a psychiatric nurse at the former Gardner State Hospital. Lucy was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She was a 1935 graduate of Murdock High School. Her hobbies included playing cards, gardening and doing bookwork. Lucy was the wife of the late Theodore Leclair, who died in 1966. She leaves a brother, Roger Plante of Westminster; 13 nephews, Roger G. Hunt of Winchendon, Peter M. Hunt of Omaha, Nebraska, William J. Hunt of Winchendon, James S. Hunt of Gardner, Glenn A. Hunt of Winchendon, Marshall S. Hunt of Peterborough, NH., Joseph Plante of Swansea, Roger Plante of Winchendon, Richard Plante of Westminster, Thomas Plante of Harwich, Donald Rushia of Gardner, David Rushia of Norton and Gary Rushia of Gardner; a niece, Jeannette Herr of Westminster as well as several great nephews and great nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Plante; two sisters, Annette Rushia and Beatrice J. Hunt and two nephews, Gregory S. Hunt and Paul Rushia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 18th at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon will be Saturday, October 18th from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M.
