WINCHENDON – Lynn K. Wood, 67, of 94 Main Street, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, September 20th at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Winchendon on May 11, 1945, son of Winonah (Balch) Wood of Winchendon and the late Ivan Wood and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon.
Lynn was a 1964 graduate of Murdock High School and attended Mt. Wachusett Community College. Until his retirement, he had worked as a machine operator for New England Wooden Ware since 1968. He was a member of Redemption Rock Church, Westminster and adored and loved his wife and family. Lynn had a great love for the Lord. Lynn shared a love of the outdoors. His hobbies included hunting, bowling, fishing, camping and gardening. Lynn proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968. He enjoyed spending good times with his good friends with his friends, especially Bob and Elaine Mattson.
In addition to his mother, he leaves his wife of 47 years, “His Sunshine” Linda (Lafond) Wood; ten children, Wendy C. Hurst and her husband George of Westminster, Chantel L. Safford and her husband Roger of Strafford, VT, Brandi T. LeBlanc and her husband Richard of Leominster and Brity T. Murphy of Winchendon, as well as David K. Wood of ME, Eric M. Wood of Fitchburg, Jenelyn T. Gilbert and her husband Robert of Gardner, Lisa Hoyt and her husband Lester of Greenfield, Linsey Conley of Jaffrey, NH and Jenna Hynes of Leominster; four brothers, Ivan “Skip” Wood and his wife June, Larry Wood and his wife Rebecca, Roger Wood and Nathan Wood and his wife Kelly, all of Winchendon, two former son-in-laws, Shannon Murphy of Winchendon and Charles Bosworth of Gardner; grandchildren, Matthew C. Bosworth, Justin K. Bosworth, Jillian C. Bosworth, Alexander L. Bosworth, Heather L. Safford, Roger N. Safford Jr, Andrew K. Safford, Austin P. LeBlanc, Tyler M. LeBlanc, Arianna T. LeBlanc, Jase K. Murphy, Kyle P. Murphy, Branden E. Murphy, Jessica AE Murphy, Sammantha Conley, Shane Conley, Autumn Patterson, Makenzie Druing, Shyanne Hoyt and Johnathan Hoyt; great grandchildren, Brookelynn A. Stemple, Landon W. Stemple, Braden T.C. Safford, Chandler J. Safford, Bradley Safford, Caiden Safford, Dallas Safford, Patrick K. Bosworth, Mackenzie M. Bosworth, Justin R. Bosworth, Haylee M. Murphy Cronin, Amiela Lynne Carmichael and Braylin Drew Safford and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his mother in law Eva Lafond, two brother in laws Skip Lafond and Jim Bernard and two sister in laws, Laurie Lafond and Brenda Bernard.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 24th at 5:30 P.M. at Redemption Rock Church, 1 Central Park, Westminster. Calling hours will precede the service from 3:30 to 5:30 P.M. Monday, September 24th.
Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon will be private.
