Marcia Lorraine LaFreniere

Marcia L. LaFreniere passed away unexpectedly at Heywood Hospital on February 5, 2025. Born December 30, 1947, in Fitchburg, MA she resided in Winchendon for most of her adult life. Marcia was a kind, resilient, and incredibly strong-willed person.

The cornerstone of Marcia’s life was the relationships with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was the heart of the family. Marcia married Donald J. LaFreniere in November of 1971. In her own words, they were instantly drawn to each other from the moment they first met. Donald and Marcia loved each other fiercely through many seasons of life, celebrating their 54th wedding anniversary this past year. Through his strength and, support she was able to overcome many obstacles in her path to find peace in the life they shared and the family they created with their two sons. Marcia was courageous enough to ask more of the world for her sons than she had for herself. She was so proud of the men they became. 

Aside from her family, Marcia was an avid animal lover who always opened her doors to stray cats and made sure all the animals in the neighborhood found a meal at her house. She enjoyed quiet days sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds fly around the garden she and Donald lovingly tended to. 

Marcia’s past times included watching soap operas and wrestling. She enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods and playing bingo. Marcia enjoyed reminiscing about the years when her family was young and sharing a lifetime of wisdom with her grandchildren. 

Marcia is survived by her husband Donald J. LaFreniere, sons Micheal Miller, Thomas Gerry and wife Cheryl Newman, and grandchildren Brandon Miller, Kayla Gerry, and Timothy Gerry. We will miss the smile on her face when she was joined by her family. Marcia will patiently wait in heaven for one day to be joined by her loving husband who will share stories of her children and grandchildren that she is watching over. 

Funeral services will be private.
