Margarita T. (Kretz) Meszaros

ASHBURNHAM - Margarita T. (Kretz) Meszaros, 86, of 10 Hillandale Road, Ashburnham, died Wednesday evening, February 8th in her residence following an illness. She was born in Nilvange, France on June 28,1919, the daughter of Johann and Margarete (Uhlmann) Kretz and had lived in Northborough for 25 years before moving to Ashburnham 2 years ago to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Her husband of 30 years, Dr. Laszlo Meszaros, a psychiatrist at Westboro State Hospital, died in 1975. Margarita enjoyed music, singing, crossword puzzles and reading. She leaves two sons, Gunter Minges and his wife Margaret of Willard, NY and Laszlo Meszaros and his wife Sande of Romulus, NY; two daughters, Margarita A. Chandler and her husband Raymond of Ashburnham, with whom she lived, and Violet M. Lawrence and her husband, Calvin of Westborough; a brother and sister in Germany; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews in Germany. She was predeceased by a sister, Rilla Opitz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 13th at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon. Burial will take place in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA. 01440.
