WINCHENDON – Marilyn J. “Dusty” Meyer, 83, of Winchendon, died peacefully Tuesday, March 17th, at her residence.
A lifelong resident of Winchendon, she was born on November 13, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Esther E. (Folsom) Meyer Jr. She was a 1949 graduate of Cushing Academy and a 1951 graduate of Mt. Ida College. Dusty worked for many years as a secretary at the family business, Alaska Freezer, until her retirement. A well know woman’s golfer in the area, Dusty had been a member of Winchendon Country Club and enjoyed socializing with friends after golf at the Glen Club. An animal lover, she had owned several dogs and was a former member of Winchendon Historical Society.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Sally E. Meyer, who died in 1967. She leaves several second cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 30th at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Inanna J. Arthen will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery later in the spring.
