WINCHENDON – Marion I. (Higgins) Lewis, 76, of 23 Baldwinville Road, died peacefully Thursday morning, August 20th at her residence, with her family at her side.
She was born in Winchendon on August 27, 1938, daughter of the late Clarence and Madaline (Sawyer) Higgins. A lifelong resident of Winchendon, she was a graduate of Murdock High School.
Marion worked as a treasurer at the former Marquette Credit Union for 25 years until her retirement. She had also worked doing billing and insurance forms in the offices of Dr. Antonellis and Skelton. Marion loved to read and enjoyed doing puzzles, coin collecting, computer games and knitting. For a number of years, she had wintered in Florida.
Her husband, Edward D. Lewis, died in 2009. She leaves a daughter, Janet M. Shea and her husband Robert of Winchendon; a brother, Richard M. Higgins of Oregon; her grandchildren and their families, Andrea L. Pancholi and her husband Rajesh and their children, Gemma R. Pancholi and Jude R. Pancholi, Nathan E. Dulfon, Cassie M. Brown and her husband Samuel and their children Jamie M. Cloutier and Bentley J. Brown; and Lily A. LeBlanc. A son, Edward D. Lewis Jr, preceded her in death.
Private graveside services will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Winchendon.
