Marjorie "Margie" Arline Laperriere, of Mesa, Arizona formerly of Winchendon, Chicopee, West Springfield, and Springfield, Massachusetts, after 62 years of happiness, love, and laughter, passed away on February 27th encircled by loving family and friends. Margie was born in Winchendon, Massachusetts on October 21st, 1944 to George and Olive (Aiken) Laperriere. She attended Winchendon schools, continued her education in Western Massachusetts and became an electronics technician. She was employed for 20 years at Digital Equipment Corporation retiring in 1991. Appropriately, she changed her life's work to healthcare and became a "caregiver", looking after those in need for more than 15 years with exceptional care and love. Margie was an amazing woman with an enormous love for life and was beautiful inside and out. She shared a unique and special friendship with so many people whose lives will be forever better because of her. Margie found joy in helping others and never wanted or expected anything in return. She loved animals rescuing many throughout her life and she appreciated the beauty in our world. She truly understood the importance of doing all that she could to make others happy and to improve their lives. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and served as a fine example of the way we should all strive to be. Margie will be deeply and truly missed, and loved forever by her life partner and soul mate of nearly 19 years, Renee Paquette. She will also be deeply missed by her beloved son David G. Laperriere; her grandsons Christopher, Bryan and Mitchell Laperriere; her eldest sister Olive Kalashian with whom she also resided; her brother Frederick A. Laperriere, his wife Colleen and their children Cara and Lauren; her brother George E. Laperriere and his daughter April; her sister Marilyn A. Richard, her husband Bob and their son Jimmy; her sister Mary Taylor and her children Donna and Patty; her sister Betty and her children Cathy, Debbie, Andrea, Rosie, Anna and Judy; her brother Richard; her lifelong friends Jeannie and Mary; and many, many other "extended" family members and friends. Margie was honored with a beautiful sunset memorial service on March 1st at Painted Mountain G.C. in Mesa, Arizona with inspirational words, prayer and music. On Sunday, March 25th at 2:00 PM, she will be laid to rest with her parents at Wildwood Cemetery on Route 68 (West Street) in Gardner, Massachusetts. A celebration (gathering) of her life will follow at the Elks Home, located at 31 Park Street in Gardner, Massachusetts from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local Hospice Foundation, Humane Society for animals, or the Human Rights Campaign Fund at HRC-Membership, 1640 Rhode Island Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 20036. www.snow-ladeau.com
