TEMPLETON - Marjorie N. (Pease) Stone, 100, of 208 State Road, Otter River, died peacefully Monday evening, August 21, 2017 in Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol. Her family was at her side.
She was born in Templeton on August 6, 1917, daughter of the late Lester and Agnes (Jensen) Pease and was a graduate of the former Templeton High School and Worcester State Teachers College.
Marjorie was an elementary school teacher for many years at the former Templeton Elementary School, where she taught mostly the second and fifth grades. In the late 1950's, she also taught developmentally disabled children.
She was a member of First Church of Templeton and had been active in many church activities. She had also been a member of the former Templeton Women's Club and was a former Girl Scout leader. Her hobbies included gardening, boating, sewing, reading, doing crossword puzzles and Scrabble. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
She was the wife of the late R. Lincoln "Linc" Stone, who died in 1985. She leaves three daughters, M. Christine Stone of Otter River, Mary L. Stone of Marshfield and Paula S. Erickson and her husband Dana of Phillipston; a brother, Robert Pease, of Templeton; a sister, Dorothy Pease Clemons, of Stratham, NH; four grandsons, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Paul Pease, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10 A.M. in First Church of Templeton , Templeton Common. The Rev. William Ault will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
