Winchendon- Mark S. “Woody” Woodard, 67, died Monday, October 3, 2022 peacefully at home.
He was born in Gardner, MA on July 17, 1955, a son of the late Ralph Woodard and Virginia (Dushion) Woodard.
Mark grew up in Winchendon, MA and Orange, MA, he graduated from Murdock High School with the Class of 1973.
Mark worked at the Templeton Developmental Center for many years and was beloved by the clients.
Mark enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid softball player. For years he could be found on the field as a star 3rd baseman playing for Gardner City League, along with leagues in Winchendon, Templeton and Athol, where he made many life long friends. Mark also enjoyed golf, playing cards and was a cribbage champion. He didn’t like to lose, not even to his grandchildren. Mark could make anyone laugh and was known for his quick one liners. He was New England’s biggest Cleveland Browns fan. He coached for Winchendon Little League for several years when his boys were younger.
He leaves his wife of 46 years, Susan (Divoll) Woodard; three sons, Eric Woodard and his wife Sylvia of Medway, MA, Ryan Woodard and his wife Beth of Fitzwilliam, NH, Bret Woodard of Portland, ME; a brother, Brent Woodard of Fitzwilliam, NH; a sister, Paula Gallegos and her husband Bill of Albuquerque, NM; three grandchildren, Kaila, Trevor, Lillian and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Gardner Fish and Gun Club,
