Royalston

Martin (Marty) P, Paine, 68, of Royalston, left this world peacefully in his sleep at his home. He was the son of Barbara A (Lawrence) and Richard S Paine Sr.

He leaves behind his children Robert Paine, his wife Brandy Anderson of Winchendon, Jeanne Leger of Winchendon, Rebecca Paine and her husband Derek Freeman of Templeton. His grandchildren Tyler, Colton, and Caden; His sister Ursula Michel, his brother Richard S Paine Jr, his wife Molly Paine of Baldwinville, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Kathleen Bourassa.

Marty was born in Gardner and was raised in Baldwinville, later moving and settling in the Village of South Royalston. He graduated Narragansett High School in 1975 and joined the family business at Baldwinville Garage. Marty had an incredible passion for cars and could always be recognized by his project cars, most notably his 4x4 Falcon. Marty worked for many years at the Templeton Highway Department. Upon retiring from the Highway Department, he went back to Baldwinville Garage to help his son.

Community was important to Marty, he spent some years on the Baldwinville Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, working on his car, and being a father to his wonderful children. He was a simple man who always loved to help where help was needed. He had the best sense of humor and was “a charmer,” he would say. He loved to talk to people and always seemed to enjoy the little things life had to offer.

Marty was a wonderful man. He will be forever loved and never forgotten.
