Mary Alice Anderson (née L’Etoile), 77, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, in Winchendon, Massachusetts. Born on February 18, 1948, in Southbridge, Massachusetts, she lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and a vibrant spirit that touched all who knew her.

Mary Alice graduated from Murdock High School in 1966 and later pursued her passion for nursing by enrolling in the LPN program at Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner. With determination and resilience, she put herself through nursing school eventually working at Athol Memorial Hospital and went on to serve in various nursing homes in New Hampshire as a long-term care nurse. Her commitment to patient care culminated in her role as an MDS nurse at Genesis Healthcare, where she eventually retired.

Throughout her life, Mary Alice was known for her warmth and generosity. She had a natural ability to make people feel welcome and valued—traits that made her not only an exceptional nurse but also a cherished friend. Her home was often filled with laughter and good company; she loved entertaining and was truly the life of the party.

Mary Alice found great joy in spending time with those closest to her. She especially treasured moments with her beloved granddaughter Rosalee - the apple of everyone’s eye. Whether enjoying the coastal beauty of Cape Cod and Maine or simply relaxing with a good book surrounded by her pets, Mary Alice embraced the simple pleasures of New England living.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Michele (L’Etoile) Morin of Fitchburg; sons Matthew Henrikson of Francestown, NH, and Tyler Anderson and his wife Ashley of Bradford, NH; brothers David L’Etoile of Fayetteville, NC, and Larry L’Etoile of Baldwinville, MA; cousin Kevin Moreau and his wife Arlene; nephew Matthew; nieces Kaitlyn, Sharon, Cathy, Susan, and Carol Ann; and her beloved granddaughter Rosalee.

Mary Alice was predeceased by her parents Fernand August L’Etoile and Alice (Stearns) L’Etoile, as well as her aunt Helen (Stearns) Newton.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. A celebration of her life is planned for the fall - her favorite time of year.
