Maurice "Chunny" Desaulniers

WINCHENDON – Maurice “Chunny” Desaulniers, 88, of 162 Mill Street, died Tuesday, March 16, 2021 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

He was born in Winchendon on February 26, 1933, son of the late Lucien and Alma (Moreau) Desaulniers and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon.

Chunny had worked for many years at Simplex Time Recorder until his retirement.  He was an avid golfer and participated in golf leagues at the former Winchendon Golf Course.  During the Korean War, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.  He later served in the Army National Guard.

His wife of 53 years, Barbara A. (Grasmuck) Desaulniers, died in 2011.   He leaves his sisters-in-law, Jean Rivard of Winchendon and Brenda Kelly and her husband Thomas of Colorado Springs, Colorado as well as many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife, Chunny was preceded in death by brothers, Earnest Desaulniers and Richard Desaulniers and sisters, Cecile Sylinski and Theresa Guy.

Funeral services and burial in Calvary Cemetery will be private.
