Maurice L. "Shoes" Rocheleau

WINCHENDON – Maurice L. “Shoes” Rocheleau, 56, of 13 Old Gardner Road, Winchendon, died peacefully Thursday morning, May 19 th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

He was born in Fitchburg on March 11, 1955, son of Roland J.M. Rocheleau of Winchendon and the late Barbara A. (Waltz) Rocheleau, and had lived in Winchendon for most of his life.

Shoes worked for 37 years as a corrugated foreman at New England Wooden Ware. He was a 1973 graduate of Murdock High School and later received his Associate’s Degree at Mt. Wachusett Community College in Gardner. He enjoyed hunting and camping. Several years ago, Shoes was a Little League baseball coach.

In addition to his father, he leaves his wife, Charline G. (Fontaine) Rocheleau; a son Justin P. Rocheleau of Winchendon; a daughter, Mellissa Johnson and her husband Christopher of Walpole; a brother, Leon W. “Butch” Rocheleau and his wife Linda of Gardner; a half sister, Rolanda Price and her husband David of Templeton; his long time companion Jennifer Kilty, with whom he lived, of Winchendon; his granddog, Boscoe and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Shoes was expecting his first granddaughter, Olivia Ryan Johnson, in August. A son, Ryan C. Rocheleau, died on May 7 th of this year and his brother, Roland J.M. “Buckets” Rocheleau Jr, died last year.

Private funeral services will be held in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.
