EAST BRIDGEWATER – Maurice M. Fournier, 79, of East Bridgewater, died peacefully Wednesday, September 29, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Peterborough, NH on May 10, 1942, son of the late Richard and Adouilda (Bibeau) Fournier and grew up in Winchendon, where he graduated from Murdock High School. His beloved wife of 56 years, Carol A. (Carrier) Fournier, died last year. He was the devoted father of Scott Fournier, James Fournier and Derek Fournier; proud grandfather of Kristina Riley; Elizabeth, Zachary, Andrea, Joshua and Hannah and he had the pleasure to become a great grandfather of Adalynn Rose. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Robert Fournier.
Maurice proudly served as a sailor in the United States Navy, where he learned to weld. Maurice was retired, previously employed by Westinghouse as a welder. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his favorite Boston teams. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. An avid woodworker, he enjoyed making toys for his grandchildren to enjoy.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 4, 2021 at 10 AM in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Services may be viewed at the following link: https://webcasts.lifetributes.com/1166561
A calling hour precede the funeral Monday from 9 to 10 A.M.
Burial, with military honors, will be in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
