TEMPLETON – Maynard E. Tucker, 92, of 43 Beech Street, Baldwinville, died peacefully Sunday morning, April 13th in Legend Nursing Center, Gardner.
He was born in Cherryfield, Maine on February 16, 1922, son of the late Frank M. and Susie (Smith) Tucker and had lived in Baldwinville for many years.
Maynard was an electrician for over 36 years at the former Gardner State Hospital and Rutland State Hospital until his retirement. During World War Two, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He was a member of Hope Lodge of Masons and Royal Arch Chapter of Gardner. A long time member of Memorial Congregational Church, Baldwinville, he had also served as one of its trustees. Maynard was a member of American Legion Post 373 in Baldwinville and was a life member of Disabled American Veterans. His hobbies included hunting and fishing.
His wife of 39 years, Pauline L. (Girouard) Wheelen Tucker, died in 2007. He leaves a son, Wesley M. Tucker of Baldwinville; a stepson, Gerald D. Wheelen and his wife Louise of Westminster; a stepdaughter, Susan Vincent of Hollis, NH; a step granddaughter, Jennifer Vincent Burbee of Hollis, NH; his former daughter-in-law, Tonia Tucker of Baldwinville and several nieces and nephews. A son, Richard Tucker, and all of his siblings, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17th at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Richard Jones will officiate.
There are no calling hours.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Baldwinville.
