WINCHENDON – Nancy A. (Hursey) Guevin, 72, of 5 Ready Drive, died peacefully at home Sunday morning, February 8th.
She was born in Ayer, MA on September 24, 1942, daughter of the late Van M. and Evelyn F. (Borey) Hursey and lived in the Gardner area for most of her life. Nancy grew up in East Templeton and went to school at Narragansett Regional High School in Templeton.
Nancy worked in furniture manufacturing and human services until her retirement in 2003. She was an active member of G.G.A.R.C. In 2008, Nancy and her husband Paul received “The Trailblazer Award” from the Governor of Massachusetts for their tireless efforts and advocacy in the raising of their son Louis. Nancy enjoyed her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Her husband of 45 years, Paul E. Guevin, died 2011. She leaves four children, Floyd W. Clark and his fiancée Debra Fanelli of Gardner, Michelle Guevin and her fiancée Robert Wakefield of Winchendon, Lisa Guevin of Winchendon and Louis Guevin of Winchendon; her brothers, Van M. Hursey Jr and his wife Shirley, Thomas P. Hursey and his wife Joann and Gary Hursey, all of Gardner; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her best and lifelong friend of over 60 years, Audrey Carabba of Gardner.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 17th at 10 A.M. in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate. There are no calling hours.
