GARDNER – Nancy C. (Patterson) Martin, 72, of 133 Blanchard Street, died peacefully Wednesday evening, February 25th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
She was born in Winchendon on August 22, 1942, daughter of the late George Patterson Jr and Caroline (Lafalam) Patterson Morlock and was a resident of Winchendon for most of her life. Since 2001, she had resided in Gardner.
Nancy was a 1960 graduate of Murdock High School. Many years ago she worked at Cobley’s Clothing Store and Aubuchons. For several years she worked in the Winchendon public school system as a teacher’s aide paralegal. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Baldwinville and was a former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and Our Lady of Holy Rosary Church. For over 20 years, she was a religious education instructor at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Her hobbies were sewing, crocheting, doing crafts with her grandchildren and collecting a large collection of rosary beads.
She leaves her husband, Wilfred J. Martin; three children, Catherine M. Wheeler and her husband Richard E. of Barre, Susan A. Sawyer and her husband Nathan R. of Gardner and Peter M. Martin and his wife Joanne of Jaffrey, NH; her sisters and brother, Shirley Swett of Sullivan, NH, Bruce Morlock of Fitchburg and Linda Maker of Leominster, six grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A brother, Peter Morlock, preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 3rd at 11 A.M. in St. Vincent De Paul Church, 1 Forest Street, Baldwinville. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Winchendon in the spring.
