WINCHENDON – Nedina M. (Marinelli) Koldys, 89, formerly of 315 Spring Street, Winchendon, died peacefully Wednesday morning, March 20th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner with her family at her side.
She was born in Winchendon on December 16, 1923, daughter of the late Bazilio Marinelli and Justine (Manoni) Marinelli Piermattei and lived in Winchendon her entire life until moving to Gardner five years ago.
Nedina was a cafeteria worker for many years in The Winchendon School. She also had worked as a kitchen helper at the former Winchendon Hospital. On a part-time basis, she worked as a cook at the former Casa Giardini Restaurant. Nedina was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She enjoyed crocheting and making hats for the public school children. Nedina was an avid golfer. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she treasured spending time with her family.
Her husband of 58 years, Stanley A. Koldys, died in 2005. She leaves a daughter, Joyce A. Churchey and her husband Walter of Sterling; one half brother, Dante Piermattei of Worcester; four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Three brothers, Chelso Piermattei, Lindo Permattei and Selvino A. Marinelli predeceased her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 25th at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Sunday, March 24th from 3 to 5 P.M.
