WINCHENDON – Olive G. (Hustus) Blodgett, 87, of 9 Hyde Street, died peacefully Thursday morning, January 28, 2021 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, with her family at her side.
She was born in Pittsfield, ME on December 10, 1933, daughter of the late Irving and Julia Irene (Burgess) Hustus and graduated from high school in Pittsfield. She had lived in Winchendon for 48 years.
Olive worked at multiple furniture factories in this area as a furniture worker. Many years ago, she worked at a shoe shop in Haverhill. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and doing ceramics.
Her husband of 43 years, Henry W. Blodgett, died in 2008. She leaves a daughter, Cynthia Ann Harrington of Winchendon; three stepchildren, Raymond W. Blodgett of Haverhill, Deborah J. Carson and her husband Bill of Winchendon and April L. Boerstler of OK; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Olive was one of 15 children.
Private funeral services will be held in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
Memorial donations may be made to Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
