WEYMOUTH – Paul V. Jensen, 81, a resident of Weymouth for most of his life, died peacefully Tuesday evening, September 15th in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner.
He was born in Boston on September 20, 1933, son of the late Alfred J. and Helen (Riley) Jensen and graduated from Dorchester High School. For the last two years, he lived at Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Paul proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War. He served aboard the USS Mount McKinley and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
Paul worked as an electrician and retired from William Horlick Co in Randolph, where he worked for several years. He was a member of VFW Post #1399 in Weymouth. He loved to hunt and was an avid coin collector. He also had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying.
He leaves his daughters, Kristine Bartholdson and her husband David Scott of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Kimberly Culhane and her husband Michael G of Weymouth and Dale Poole and her husband Wayne T. of Rindge, NH; a brother, Harold Jensen of Brockton; his grandchildren, Erika, Robert, David, Paul, Meredith, Hannah, Garrett and Gabrielle; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A grandson, Carter Poole; a great granddaughter, Nora Bartholdson, his sister, Helen Bucalis and her brothers, Alfred Jensen, Billy Jensen, Johnnie Jensen, Robert Jensen and Richie Jensen preceded him in death.
Private military funeral services will be held in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
