GARDNER - Paula LaBay (Mitchell) Meador passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2019. In her last moments, she was resting comfortably on hospice care after an extended illness.
Paula was born on October 31, 1957, in Gardner, Massachusetts. She was born to Charles and Pauline Mitchell of Baldwinville, Massachusetts. She loved New England and was proud to be from Baldwinville. Paula graduated from Narragansett High School in 1975. She worked in restaurants her entire life and attended administrative assistant courses at Mount Wachusett Community College. She was a devout Christian and a member of Mission of Grace Church in Gardner, though she and her husband attended many different churches in the area. Paula loved to read and she shared her love of reading with those closest to her.
Paula leaves her husband of 41 years, Thomas D. Meador Jr., her son Kenneth L. Meador, his wife Anita, and grandchildren Brayden and Boston. She also leaves her son Jeremae Mitchell, her stepson Thomas D. Meador III, his wife Connie, and grandchildren Todd and Dora. She was predeceased by her son Bryan Meador, in 1979, and her stepdaughter Diane Meador, in 2011. She also leaves her elder siblings, Christine Mitchell (and Gordon Schultz), Robert (and Sally) Mitchell, and Margaret Balins (and Joseph Boyd). A special thanks to her care teams at Henry Heywood Hospital and Leominster UMass Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, Winchendon. A calling hour will precede the funeral Saturday from 10 to 11 A.M.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Baldwinville.
