Pauline Betty (Kiritsy) Stevens

FITZWILLIAM, NH - Pauline Betty (Kiritsy) Stevens, 59, of Fitzwilliam, N.H., passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, with her family by her bedside, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Concord, N.H on March 27, 1950, growing up in Seymour, CT, where she attended school and went on to Middlesex Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Middleton, CT. She first worked at Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT. as an RN and later moved to Fitzwilliam, N.H. in 1973 with her husband Bill Stevens. She then worked at Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA for 37 yrs. She served as interim director of acute care taking on the additional role of Nursing Operations and Coordinator and Supervisor of the nursing staff, and then as a certified oncology nurse in the Outpatient Specialty Clinic for the past 2 � yrs until the time of her death. Pauline, aka"Diddi", enjoyed snowmobiling, watching her Red Sox win, feeding her birds, working in her flower beds, cooking, camping at Salisbury Beach, dancing, listening to music and she could also play the accordion. Most of all she loved being at her camp in Maine on Sebosis Lake and loved caring for her grandson, Gabriel Stevens. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 yrs, William D. Stevens of Fitzwilliam, N.H., two sons, William C. Stevens and his companion Melissa Vaillancourt and her daughter Jasmine of Fitzwilliam NH., Christopher E. Stevens, his son Gabriel and his finance Lindsey St. Onge and her 2 daughters Olivia and Brooke of Rindge NH., her father, Charles A. Kiritsy and mother Virginia (deceased) 2003 of Fitzwilliam, N.H., one brother Chuck and his wife Anna of Fitzwilliam,N.H., two sisters, Terry Gustafson and her husband Keith of Fitzwilliam,N.H. and Sandy Kiritsy and her companion Harry Damon of Fitzwilliam, N.H., six nephews, Brian Kiritsy of Flagstaff AZ, Kevin Kiritsy of Fitzwilliam, N.H., Gregory Gilbert of Fitzwilliam, David Stevens of Seymour, CT, Matthew Stevens of Seymour, CT, Seth Stevens of Seymour, CT, three nieces Lauren Gilbert of Fitzwilliam, N.H., Casey Stevens of Seymour, CT., Katie Stevens of Seymour, CT, mother- in- law, Betty Stevens and her late father- in- law, William Stevens of Seymour, CT, several aunts, uncles and cousins, one cat, Elvis and a black lab, Buck. Calling hours will be held Monday, March 1st from 5 to 8 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home 343 Central Street, Winchendon, MA. There will be a private family service at a later date.
