Pauline R. (Lorion) Alger

ROYALSTON - Pauline R. (Lorion) Alger, 95, of 2 Baldwinville Road, South Royalston, died unexpectedly Friday, December 15th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner. She was born in Fitchburg on May 8,1911, the daughter of Arthur and Diana (Lemire) Lorion and had lived in South Royalston for 63 years. Pauline was an assembler at the former N.D. Cass Toy Co. in Athol before her retirement in 1982. She attended the Second Congregational Church in South Royalston, and enjoyed reading and crocheting. She formerly volunteered in a chorus group, which entertained disabled veterans in Winchendon. Pauline was a member of the former Royalston Grange #195, and was a member of the Franklin and Worcester Pomona Grange #4. She leaves a son, Arthur L. Alger of South Royalston; four sisters-in-law, Nancy and Loretta Lorion of Gardner, Helen Lorion of Winchendon and Esther Lorion of Erie, PA, as well as several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by five brothers, Hector Lorion of Gardner in 1981, Simon Lorion of Winchendon in 1991, Andrew Lorion of Gardner in 1996, Francis Lorion of Winchendon in 2006 and Maurice Lorion of Gardner in 2006. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 20th at 11 A.M. in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Dr. Virginia E. Asel, pastor of the First and Second Congregational Churches of Royalston, will officiate. Burial will take place in Jonas Alliene Cemetery, Royalston. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, December 20th from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. prior to the service. www.snow-ladeau.com
