WINCHENDON – Paul R. Chatigny, 79, of 130 Ipswich Drive, Winchendon died peacefully Saturday, July 27th in Life Care Center in Leominster.
He was born in Worcester on December 29, 1933, son of the late Florence Chatigny. He grew up in Athol and attended Athol High School. For several years, Paul was a resident of Gardner until moving to Winchendon about ten years ago.
Paul worked as a heavy equipment operator for Casaceli Trucking Co. in Hudson until his retirement. He was also a musician, playing bass guitar and singing for The Cavaliers. Paul enjoyed dining out, cooking and trying new foods. In his earlier years, Paul enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, airplanes, skiing, scuba diving, photography and computers. Recently, he had become a NASCAR enthusiast and fan of the Boston Red Sox. He loved animals, especially his cat, Oreo.
He leaves four children, Linda J. Bova and her husband Stephen of Peabody, Brian R. Chatigny and his wife Cristine of Townsend, Marcia A. Chatigny and her partner Karen Phillips of East Longmeadow and Kevin P. Chatigny of Gardner; nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday evening, August 1st in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. A funeral service will follow at 7 P.M. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate.
