With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of our beloved Peter Scott (March 28, 1951 - January 14, 2025), a man of unwavering dedication and boundless compassion. Born in Gardner, MA, Peter was the heart and soul of his family, always offering a supportive shoulder to lean on and setting an example of love and kindness. As Fredrick Douglass once said, "It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men." This quote encapsulates Peter's approach to life and family.
Peter's love for his work as a boiler engineer at various paper mills was only surpassed by his love for his family. His dedication to his craft was evident in his commitment to providing a comfortable life for his loved ones. After retirement, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like hunting and fishing - passions he proudly passed down to his children. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Scott; his sons, Ben Scott (Kristin), Matt Scott (Annmarie); his brother, John Scott; his sister, Carol Truitt; his grandson, Nicholas Scott (Bianca); and his great-grandson, Luca Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Martha Scott, and his brothers, Bill, Tom, and Russell Scott.
Peter's life was a testament to the words of Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." His compassionate spirit, loving nature, and supportive presence will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched.
We invite you to leave your memories of Peter and upload pictures to his online memorial page, as we celebrate the life of this extraordinary man.
Burial and Celebration of Life at a later date.
