WINCHENDON – Peter B. Bacon, 72, of 9 Crescent Road, died peacefully Monday evening, July 21st in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
He was born in Gardner on February 6, 1942, son of the late Morris and Agnes (Connell) Bacon and was a 1961 graduate of Gardner High School. He was a resident of Winchendon for 52 years.
Peter had worked as a machinist at L.S. Starrett Company, Athol. He proudly served in the Army National Guard in Gardner for 16 years. He was a member of the Winchendon Rod and Gun Club and National Muzzle Loading Association and had participated in many black powder shoots in New England. He enjoyed spending time with his family and hunting.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Elaine I. (Rice) Bacon; two grandchildren Ian Gray and Dylan Gray of Gardner; a sister, Nancy Poe of Washington, nieces and nephews. A daughter, Marlene Gray, preceded him in death in 2003.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 25th at 11 A.M. in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
