RINDGE, NH – Philip B. Hughgill, 77, formerly of 569 Main Street, died peacefully Friday evening, July 10th in Cheshire County Maplewood Nursing Home, Westmoreland, NH, with his family at his side.
A lifelong resident of Rindge, Phil was born July 29, 1937, one of eight children of the late George C. and Dolly (Crane) Hughgill. Philip attended Rindge schools, was a Boy Scout, and was active in the community, serving over ten years on the Rindge Fire Department. His first employment was with the State of New Hampshire, followed by The Annette Box Shop in Jaffrey, General Box Shop in Winchendon and ended with retirement from The New Hampshire Department of Transportation in 1999.
Predeceased by his parents and brother, Alan N. Hughgill, he leaves his siblings, Eleanor Muldoon, Robert and Janey Hughgill, Raymond and Gloria Hughgill, Marilyn Hurley, Linda and John Snow, Janet Hughgill and Phil Curry, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and his caring Maplewood family.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 16th at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. David Jadlocki will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Rindge.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, July 16th from 10 to 11 A.M. preceding the funeral.
