TEMPLETON – Philip F. Harris, 86, of 528 South Road, died peacefully at his residence Wednesday evening, May 12, 2021 with his family at his side.
He was born in Lyndonville, Vermont on December 12, 1934, son of the late Derby and Shirley Lee (White) Harris. Phil was a 1954 graduate of Templeton High School and joined the Navy following his graduation. He proudly served his country during the Korean War later and graduated from Worcester Junior College with a degree in business.
Phil was a police officer for the City of Gardner for 25 years until his retirement. Following his retirement, he worked as a security guard at Simplex Time Recorder. He was a life member of Ovila Case Post 905 VFW in Gardner. Phil enjoyed reading and was an avid sports fan.
He leaves his wife of 29 years, Lucille D. (Gore) Harris; one son, Philip Harris of New Hampshire; a daughter, Debra Harris of South Carolina; two stepsons, Donald Bouchard and his wife Susan of Templeton and Jarrod Bouchard of Leominster; a brother Daniel Harris of Templeton; two sisters, Jean Minchenberg of Gardner and Bonnie Spofford of Templeton; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Gloria Raia, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 12 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Burial, with military honors will be in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
