GARDNER – Philip G. Stoddard, 72, of 22 Carriage Lane, Winchendon died peacefully Saturday, July 27th in Heywood Hospital.
He was born in Vermont, son of the late Kenneth Guy and Gayla (Knox) Stoddard and grew up in the Athol, Petersham and Orange area. He had lived in Winchendon for several years.
Phil had worked as a wireman and lathe operator for Wire and Cable Co. He enjoyed going to the Wendell P. Clark YMCA and was an avid Red Sox fan. His close knit family was especially important to him.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Michele M. (Lizotte) Stoddard; three children, Kimberly Hall and her husband Richard of Milford, NH, Guy Stoddard and his wife Debbie of No. Carolina and Scott Stoddard and his wife Jennifer of Templeton; a brother, Peter Stoddard of Athol; a sister Penny Legare of Athol, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. A daughter, Jeanne Stoddard and a brother, Patrick Stoddard predeceased him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.
