GARDNER - Philip O. Pofs, 88, of 72 Bayberry Lane, died peacefully Sunday morning, April 15, 2018 in his home, with his family at his side.
He was born in Gardner on June 1, 1929, son of the late Everett and Mildred (Anderson) Pofs and grew up in Europe. In 1948, he returned to Gardner with his family.
Phil worked as a truck driver for Goguen Transportation for many years and later worked for the State of Massachusetts until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and enjoyed playing golf. In 1953, he had the thrill of shooting a Hole in One.
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Yvonne (Bourgeois) Pofs; four children, Sheila Deane of CA, Nancy Cobb and her husband Darren of FL, Jane Gregoriou and her husband James of Hubbardston and Joyce Pofs-Driscoll of Cohassett and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private and the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner at a later date.
