Rachel M. (Helie) Priest

WINCHENDON - Rachel M. (Helie) Priest, 87, formerly of 71 Prospect Street and 119 Ipswich Drive, Winchendon, died peacefully Wednesday morning, July 29th in Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Winchendon on March 13,1922, the daughter of the late William and Phoebe (Duquette) Helie and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon. Rachel worked at Kamenstein Inc. in Winchendon for several years until her retirement. Previously, she had worked at Leominster Noveltry Silverware and Phoenix Manufacturing. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion Auxiliary, Winchendon Golden Agers and Daughters of Isabella. Her husband of 40 years, Stewart W. Priest, died in 1986. She leaves four children, Geary P. Priest and his wife Jan of Winchendon, Susan M. Hunt and her husband Glenn of Winchendon, Jayne M. Bryant and her husband Bernd of Peterborough, NH and James S. Priest and his wife Dawn of Ashland; two brothers, Raymond Helie of Winchendon and Robert A. Helie of Winchendon; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren and her companion of over twenty years, Russell A. Milliken of Winchendon. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Francis Helie and a sister, Madeline D. Tatro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1st from the Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Friday, July 31st from 6 to 8 P.M.
